“I would highly recommend Michael at Nova Optical. Very chilled out, patient, easy to talk to and passionate guy who is very thorough and professional in his work.
Nova Optical stocks the major brands such as Oakley, Ray Bans, Maui Jim’s along with a good assortment of sunglasses and reading specs. I first went to see Michael about reading glasses as a walk in when the store was RT Health, however, with Covid hitting the world, Michael bought the business and thus Nova Optical is up and running.
I was stoked and called in to check it out and was greeted by the man himself who is happily still servicing eyes. I received a quick booking regarding an eye test, and then purchased a pair of Oakley Sunnies with prescription lenses. He ordered the polarised lenses and created them to my eyes needs.

What I liked was the fact that Michael has the equipment to make up lenses there and then, unlike other optical stores that send your order away to a warehouse somewhere and you wait up to a month to receive your glasses. I had my new sunnies in just over a week and before the Xmas break.
He even offered to fix a lens in my original reading glasses for free as I was a returning customer. A simple fix that took 15 minutes to create a new lens. Great communication, great local business and great guy.

I highly recommend dropping in and saying hello. Avoid the bigger retail giants and support local!
